My Top 5 News Sources I Use Daily

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/

YouTube is my main source of news. The main reason why I choose YouTube is because how quickly I can examine an event from multiple different view points in a very short amount of time. I can easily access both right and left leaning media sources on this sight which allows me to slowly be able to see what happened at a specific event and create my own conclusions of the event rather than locking myself in an echo chamber where I blindly believe one news source or one specific group.

CNN: https://www.cnn.com/

CNN made my new source list because I chose it for my left leaning news source. I emphasized this when talking about YouTube, and will likely repeat myself farther down in this list, but I like ingesting media from ideologically distant news sources so I can see different angles on the same incident. According to the Gallup/Knight foundation, a group responsible for polling Americans on weather they believe their news is biased or not, CNN leans left and is very biased in the process. For my strategy of news intake, which involves seeing all sides, this is perfect for me.

Fox: https://www.foxnews.com/

Fox News falls into the same category that CNN did for me, a blatantly biased news organization, however in this case, leaning far right. This far right lean provides me often conflicting information to the left leaning CNN view point, which makes me seriously question the event and see it from different angles that I didn’t previously consider and help me gain a deeper understanding of both sides and their motives in the process.

PBS: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/

PBS made this list because I determined it was an in between regarding the two ideologies that are dominating the United States today. It is pretty neutral and unbiased in my opinion and this is confirmed in the Gallup/Knight Foundation study I referenced earlier. Not to continue to repeat myself, but I chose my news sources from a wide array of biased sources so I can see as many perspectives as possible.

Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/

Now this one is a weird one that many wouldn’t expect to make this list. The reason it did end up making the list is because overall, this app is how I access the 3 news organizations I referred to above. I check their posts for breaking news and then access their websites through the instagram page bio. Other than that, I don’t rely on Instagram for making any of its own news.
